The Prairie Sunset Trail is a public trail for walking, jogging and bicycling borne out of the Rails to Trails initiative. The trail spans 15 miles from Garden Plain through Goddard and continues to S. Hoover, Rd in Wichita. Our goal is a recreational trail for all ages to enjoy and a platform for children to learn about the wonders of Kansas outdoors!

Dear Friends,
This has been an exciting year as we work close with both Goddard, Garden Plain and Wichita in assuring a safe and a healthy trail for all to use. We have seen an increase of youth and volunteers helping us in our monthly workdays and look forward to this continued trend.
Mark your calendars for our Annual Board nomination and elections on Jan 14th, 2026 and our Annual Board meeting, Feb 11th, 2026. Welcome to join, 7:00 pm at Bike Walk Wichita, 325 N St Francis.
Our goal this year is to increase our individual giving budget line item, so we have a better idea of our annual trail maintenance budget. With your generous support, we can achieve this goal. Please consider a year end contribution to support the Prairie Sunset Trail.
