DESCRIPTION:Please join us as we have several needs and goals to help maintain one of the Best Jewels of our County\, the Prairie Sunset Trail  followed by our annual volunteer picnic!! \nHelp us maintain the Prairie Sunset Trail\, meet at “the shed” in Goddard Linear park on the east side near 199th Street W at 8:00 am next Saturday\, Oct 19th\, for our monthly workday.  Bring your personal water\, gloves\, loppers and chain saws if available.  Shovels for filling in cracks would also be good.  We will carpool to work locations if need be.  Following our work that morning please plan to join us for our annual volunteer picnic at the Goddard Picnic Shelter at 11:30. We will provide burgers\, hot dogs\, chips\, veggies\, cookies and drinks.  You are welcome to bring a side dish\, but there will be plenty.  So\, whether you can volunteer that day\, have in the past or would like to in the future\, join us\, learn more about what we do and who we are. \nIn case of rain please go to our FB page for updates or email us.  The picnic is in a shelter so that will take place rain or shine!

DESCRIPTION:Please join us this month as we have several needs and goals to help maintain one of the Best Jewels of our County\, the Prairie Sunset Trail!! \n\nCanopy trimming\, especially between 279th to Garden Plain & 151st to 167th\nWe also have additional cracks that have developed on the trail. So\, we again need to fill in the cracks that have developed due to our dry conditions from Lark to 199th and 119th to 135th\nArea west of 135th where we need to install the culverts needs some help in un-damming the branches that have accumulated prior to that work due to our recent rains\nWe have a wash-out area E of Tyler Rd that also needs some mayor attention\nTrash pick-up \nBridge W of 215th needs stabilizing …\n\nWe realize that we won’t get to all of these on Saturday\, but the needs never seize.  Temperature will be 50-60 but wind chill will be colder\, so dress in layers.  Don’t forget to bring your water\, working gloves and snack needs!! \nMeet at our shed at the SE corner of the linear park in Goddard at 8:00 am for assignments. \nBring loppers and/or chain saws for canopy trimming or a shovel\, hoe with a narrow end or tamping bar so we can break down the hollow spots under the cracks and fill them in with limestone. \nIf enough of us show up\, we can wrap it up quickly.\nPlease join us for 2-3 hours so we can keep the trail safe!! \nMark your calendar for Saturday\, Dec 14th\, 2024 for our next workday.  We are scheduling it for the 2nd Saturday so we are not too close to Christmas. \n  \nWe are forever grateful for your continued support whether through volunteering\, donating or\njust enjoying the trail.
